The geological literature center of China Geological Survey has recently compiled the report on natural disasters in Asia Pacific region 2019 by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific: risk aversion. This report has been excerpted and published in the internal journal foreign geological survey management (No. 14, 2020). Some of the full text will be released in the near future as an album of the same name.
The report shows that most natural disasters are related to environmental degradation and climate change. The complexity and uncertainty of disasters are increasing year by year, and the losses caused by disasters are increasing day by day. The combination of fragile environment and socio-economic vulnerability will affect the health, employment and education of the most vulnerable groups, leading to a vicious circle. Through a variety of analysis methods, the report points out that reasonable government investment, emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data, and regional cooperation can break this vicious circle.
