The Linxia Yongjing Ganggou Canyon Geotourism Training Conference, with the theme of "Geosciences Boosting the High Quality Development of the Whole Chain of Local Tourism Industry", was recently held in Yongjing. Experts and scholars at the conference provided suggestions and suggestions on the resource attributes and comprehensive development and utilization of Ganggou Canyon, promoting the construction of the Linxia World Geopark and the high-quality development of the entire chain of local tourism industry.
This training session is hosted by the Gansu Geological Society and hosted by the Gansu Geological Survey Institute. The attending experts went to Kongsi Village, Taiji Town, Yongjing County to conduct on-site inspections of the unique peaks and cliffs, Buddha niches shaped caves, cultural landscape of Ganggou Temple, secondary canyons, and barrier lake relics in Ganggou Canyon. They also gave special reports on geology, paleogeography, tourism, and other aspects. Among them, Li Jianxing, a professor level senior engineer at the Xi'an Geological Survey Center of the China Geological Survey Bureau, delivered a keynote report titled "Geological Evolution and Geological Relics of Linxia"; Professor Liang Jiwei from the School of Earth Science and Resources at Chang'an University, Professor Ma Libang from the School of Geography and Environment at Northwest Normal University, and Professor Dai Shuang from the School of Geology and Mineral Resources at Lanzhou University gave reports on the causes of niche shaped caves in Ganggou Canyon, geological tourism and geopark construction, and the evolution of ancient geography in the Lanzhou Basin and its implications for the tourism industry.
The conference reached a consensus on geoscience and tourism in the Lingxia Yongjingganggou Gorge: Yongjing County is an excellent place for the integration of geoscience and tourism development, with the potential to become a national popular tourist destination. From the perspective of geological relics, Yongjing County is undoubtedly a national level geological relic resource; From the perspective of tourism resources, it should be classified as a fifth level tourism resource, with the potential to apply for China's special grade tourism resources, and has value in geological research and tourism development. The meeting called on relevant departments, universities, and research institutions to support the comprehensive utilization and development of the Yongjing Ganggou Canyon, create higher-level tourist attractions, and enable the Yongjing Ganggou Canyon to bloom with more brilliant brilliance as soon as possible.
