To further enhance the support and guarantee capabilities of natural resource technology innovation, and actively exchange the latest achievements of the natural resource technology innovation platform, the academic exchange meeting of the Geological Disaster Monitoring and Early Warning Technology Innovation Platform of the Ministry of Natural Resources was held in Hefei, Anhui on October 27th. The conference is hosted by the Geological Disaster Intelligent Monitoring and Risk Warning Engineering Technology Innovation Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ya'an Geological Disaster Field Scientific Observation and Research Station in Sichuan, and the Ailaoshan Geological Disaster Field Scientific Observation and Research Station in Yunnan (all led by the "China Geological Environment Monitoring Institute"). It is co organized by the Hefei Institute of Public Safety at Tsinghua University and the Anhui Provincial Geological Environment Monitoring Station, and adopts a combination of online and offline methods, Nearly a hundred experts and scholars from across the country conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on the development of new technologies and instruments for disaster monitoring, research on intelligent warning models, and the construction of a dual control monitoring and warning system for "hidden danger points+risk areas". Chu Hongbin, Vice President of China Geological Environment Monitoring Institute, presided over the meeting. The person in charge of the Innovation and Development Department of the Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources stated that the science and technology innovation platform is not only a strategic scientific and technological force in various fields of natural resources, but also an important platform and scientific research force for implementing the innovation driven development strategy, transforming scientific and technological innovation achievements into real productivity, supporting and serving the core responsibilities of the Ministry of Natural Resources, and promoting local economic and social development. Each technology platform should focus on key scientific issues such as energy and resource security, national spatial governance, construction of a maritime power, high-quality development of surveying and mapping geographic information, and "bottleneck" technical difficulties, carry out scientific and technological breakthroughs, strengthen exchanges and cooperation, strive to build innovation platforms into highlands of scientific and technological innovation, gathering places for leading talents and innovation teams, and accelerate the transformation and application of scientific and technological achievements. The conference invited Peng Jianbing, an academician of the CAS Member, a professor of the School of Geological Engineering and Surveying and Mapping of Chang'an University, Zhu Jinqi, president of the Jiangsu Institute of Geological Survey, Yuan Hongyong, president of the Hefei Institute of Public Security of Tsinghua University, and others to make reports respectively entitled "Livable Earth and Geological Security", "Urban Geological Security Guarantee Countermeasures from the Perspective of Territorial Space", and "Exploration and Research on Urban Extreme Disaster Risk Monitoring and Early Warning Project", 19 technical experts, including Zhang Mingzhi, Executive Deputy Director of the Geological Disaster Intelligent Monitoring and Risk Early Warning Engineering Technology Innovation Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources, focused on the difficulties and pain points encountered in recent years in carrying out geological disaster monitoring and early warning work, and proposed opinions and suggestions on technology empowering geological disaster intelligent management. It is reported that in recent years, the Ministry of Natural Resources has comprehensively deployed and promoted the construction of the "National Geological Disaster Monitoring and Early Warning Network". The technical team led by the China Geological Environment Monitoring Institute has successfully finalized the development of the first generation monitoring instrument, and installed and deployed 260000 units (sets) in approximately 56000 geological disaster hazards.
