Since the beginning of this year, the Xi'an Mineral Resources Survey Center of the China Geological Survey (hereinafter referred to as the "Xi'an Mineral Resources Center") has focused on domestic hyperspectral remote sensing satellites to support a new round of strategic breakthroughs in mineral exploration. Using open-source geospatial information technology, it has successfully developed a complete set of domestic hyperspectral remote sensing satellite mineral mapping technology methods, technical processes, and software tools.
Based on this technological achievement, Xi'an Mineral Center has successfully completed the mapping of over 300000 square kilometers of hyperspectral minerals in the East Tianshan Beishan metallogenic belt and Altay metallogenic belt using domestic hyperspectral remote sensing satellite data (including Gaofen-5 satellite and Yuanyuan-1 02D satellite). The mapping mainly includes distribution information of more than 40 important minerals, as well as thematic information such as muscovite and chlorite minerals. At the same time, field verification work was carried out on the mapping of altered minerals in typical ore deposits, and the 1:250000 hyperspectral mineral mapping result atlas of the East Tianshan Beishan mineralization belt was compiled. Through large-scale application practice, the applicability of domestic hyperspectral remote sensing satellites in the field of mineral mapping and the effectiveness of independently developed mineral mapping software have been verified.
Next, Xi'an Mineral Center will continue to focus on researching and improving the accuracy and precision of domestic hyperspectral remote sensing satellite mineral mapping technology in the field of mineral exploration, providing more comprehensive and accurate technical support and data guarantee for mineral exploration and resource development.
