In early autumn, the author walked into the centralized relocation and resettlement site for geological disasters in Dadida Village, Maming Township, Malong District, Qujing City, Yunnan Province. In front of him was a scene of bustling construction: the main project of 4 rows of houses has been fully completed, and the sound of welding machines, cutting machines, and villagers' laughter are intertwined and floating over the autumn harvest.
Thinking that he will be able to live in a spacious and bright house by the end of the year, especially in the rainy season, he can sleep soundly. Zhang Anhong, a villager in Dadida Village, is so happy. Like Zhang Anhong, there are 426 people from 121 households in the village.
Danger is an order
In June 2015, Dadida Village, Maming Township, Malong District, Qujing City, Yunnan Province, located in a steep terrain, was affected by continuous heavy rainfall, and some houses in the village suffered wall cracks and ground sinking to varying degrees. The two families most seriously affected were Zhang Anhong and Zhang Ancai, whose houses were built in the 1960s, and the widest cracks in the walls of their houses reached 5 cm. After the danger occurred, the village-level monitors reported it step by step. After comprehensive analysis by provincial and municipal geological environment experts, it was identified as a landslide hazard, with economic losses of more than 1.5 million yuan.
Danger is an order. After the landslide occurred, the Natural Resources Bureau of Malong District, Qujing City attached great importance to it, went all out, and continued to promote the treatment of hidden dangers. They formulated the "Single Point Emergency Plan" and used radio and other forms to publicize the hidden danger point situation, monitoring personnel, alarm methods, evacuation routes, etc. At the same time, they issued geological disaster prevention work cards and disaster prevention and risk avoidance cards. Since 2015, the bureau has organized geological disaster emergency drills in the village every year to effectively enhance the villagers' awareness of disaster prevention and mitigation, strengthen their rescue and coordination capabilities in response to landslide geological disasters, and make every effort to protect the lives and property of the people.
